BRIG BI-AnNual Summit

Birmingham Race Impact Summit represents a citywide initiative that is committed to addressing racial inequalities through accountable actions that will be judged by its citizens.

Race continues to be a critical issue; as Black, Asian, Refugee, Asylum Seeker, Muslim and more marginalized communities continue to be scapegoated for political gain as demonstrated by the orchestrated far right racist summer riots across the nation. The same playbook from previous decades. Despite, Birmingham’s diverse communities coming together to show their unity in defending communities, the BRIG's Bi-Annual Summit returns on Wednesday 30th October with the question, ‘What’s Changed?’ – will the same promises to tackle societal and systemic racism post George Floyd, once again fall flat or simply drop off the agenda? Has tackling racism fallen victim to the 'Woke Culture Wars' and continued institutional cyclical performative actions?" What will make the difference in tackling racism across the broad?

Explore these questions with us and discover what has happened over the last two years - with thought-provoking debates & special performances highlighting the past, present and future of Birmingham as we call for an Anti-Racist City, by keeping race on the agenda.

Speakers will be shortly announced.

We are delighted for the support of Birmingham City University and West Midlands Combined Authority in hosting us at The Pavilion. We are expecting high demand for tickets, so please book early to avoid disappointment. If you're serious about tackling racism, this Summit requires your attendance.
